Case study:
Foresyte
Foresyte is a planning app designed for individuals seeking collective budgeting and exploration. It streamlines event and trip planning by providing a single platform for organization and sharing.
Context
Organizing social events and budget planning can be challenging as we often juggle between different platforms like WhatsApp, Venmo, and Google Flights. This constant switching takes up valuable time, hindering our ability to fully enjoy the plans we make.
Opportunity
Problem
Foresyte recognized that many event organizers lack a comprehensive toolset to effectively plan and organize events, which can diminish the social aspect and enjoyment.
Solution
Foresyte understands the synergy between finance and events, realizing that seamless planning leads to enjoyable and memorable experiences. Our key features include discovering and bookmarking destinations and events, real-time cost tracking and budgeting, collaborative event and trip creation, shared memories and real-time planning, as well as a user-friendly and comprehensive itinerary.
Research
Identifying key challenges in the initial flow and design, such as limited travel and social connection resulting in low user retention, I also recognized the potential of incorporating market verticals to reduce reliance on subscriptions. Through stakeholder interviews, user feedback, and internal team collaboration, I determined the necessary features to elevate the product. We swiftly proceeded with sketches, real-time design mockups, and rigorous testing involving advisors and users.
Design Language
The app primarily caters to young professional women aged 18-35 who travel for school, work, and major trips with friends. To reflect our target demographic's preferences, we aimed for a fun, feminine, and dynamic app design. Through design interviews, app references, and collaboration with the marketing team, we identified the colors, typography, and image assets that resonated with our brand and demographic.
Outcome
We streamlined the app's flow and design, focusing on key activities: discovering destinations and suggesting events, planning and budgeting, and promoting social engagement. This allowed us to incorporate relevant partnerships and create a comprehensive and playful interface, fulfilling our aim to assist users in responsible planning and exploration.
